Do noy ty rs232 lines form a computer com-port of usb to serial port directly to the controller. It could fry the serial bus on the controller.

Make sure your interface talks TTL 5volts and 0Volts or 3.3 and 0Volts.

Standard RS232 uses positive an negative voltage.
These voltages could be up to +13Volts and -13Volts !

Using a FTDI-cip can work with both the 3.12 version, and also the newer software as explained in the buggies forum.
For 3.12 you only need to invert Rx and TXD signals.

When I first read this post, I ignored it and went with one that suggested connecting directly to the DB9 serial port in my laptop.  I did this mainly because it was a heck of a lot easier -- it didn't work though.  Lesson learned.

In the end I was successful by using an Arduino UNO R3 board as the USB-TTL converter and a 4001 IC (2 XOR gates) to invert the in/outs.

If anybody's interested in the wiring details for the Arduino/4001 solution, let me know.

Hi!
Thanks for sharing. I already installed the software on my PC thanks to you. Now I will probably have to buy the cable to connect to my new controller
https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/Genuine-Curtis-1212P-2501-1212-2501-24V-90A-Permanent-Magnet-Motor-Controller-For-Electric-Scooter-Golf/32810476472.html

Is this compatible?

I do not know if I solve the problem with this one, but it's that I do not feel like spending almost € 300 for the 1309 usb adapter.

Above is the ftdi Audrino cable for v4 of Curtis software
Make sure you buy a genuine cable not a copy
Use ft_prog to u-load the code

Good luck

Hello,

Installed the older version 3.12 of the software. Using a default USB-to-DB9-serial cable (which emulates COM4 in my case)
I want to build the MAX232 with inverters later. I would expect a COM4 in the picklist in the software, but the picklist is empty.

Anyone has a solution?

Thanks!

I am in need for the 1314 V3.12 software. I've looked everywhere but I can only find newer versions.
The link provided above is for an upgrade from a previous version and it fail installation when it cannot detect an older version of the SW installed.

Any help really appreciated!
you can also send it to me at lfguard1_1 AT yahoo dot com

Thanks a bunch!

The way I understand it the older SW version can be used with a simpler cable, the newer version requires a cable with a chip that need to be programmed.
I am just trying to get access to a Curtis 1228 and I believe the older SW version should be fine.

[QUOTE = Topas] Cuối cùng, tôi đã thành công khi sử dụng bảng Arduino UNO R3 làm bộ chuyển đổi USB-TTL và IC 4001 (2 cổng XOR) để đảo ngược vào / ra.
